Description:

It is estimated that more than 20% of the U.S. adult population — more than 50 million Americans — suffers from arthritis in some form1. These rheumatic diseases are the leading cause of disability in the United States — primarily driven by pain2. Pharmacists and technicians are well positioned to affect the quality of life of patients by ensuring a thorough assessment, proper treatment and pharmacist-provided education for patients who suffer from osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and gout among other forms of arthritis. This webinar will review information and actions that can affect patients with arthritis.

Learning objectives:
  • Review the differences of multiple forms of arthritis.
  • Describe causes or risk factors for arthritis.
  • Review nonpharmacological therapies used to treat arthritis.
  • Define opportunities to improve quality of life for patients diagnosed with arthritis.
