Providing meaningful learning experiences for professional pharmacy students is an essential requirement for preceptors. Balancing this requirement with the unique needs of community practice can be a challenge. In this program, the important role of the community preceptor will be defined and explored. Examples of learning experience ideas and projects to facilitate active student learning will be shared with a focus on engaging students in direct patient care and building the pharmacy business.

Learning objectives:
  1. Describe impact of a quality community practice site on student development.
  2. Define roles of preceptor and professional student.
  3. List projects and ideas to facilitate student learning.
  4. Create learning environment & tools to engage students and residents.

To obtain credit:

Attendees must participate in the entire program by viewing the presentation on a smartphone, tablet or desktop or laptop computer, listening to the presenters with audio from the device or a linked telephone connection, responding to polling questions and submitting questions within the GotoWebinar platform. Following the presentation, attendees must return to the lesson within Drug Store News to attest to active participation and to select a participation code that will be displayed by the moderator during the on-screen presentation. An evaluation of the program is also required.
