To provide the community pharmacy technician with a review of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis to assist patients.
About one out of every five U.S. adults, an estimated 52.5 million adults, has clinically diagnosed arthritis.1 Arthritis is a general term that includes more than 100 different rheumatic diseases and conditions. Arthritis is a disease that is commonly thought of affecting the elderly; however, it affects individuals of all ages.
Upon completion of this program, the technician should be able to:
- Describe the prevalence of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in the U.S. population;
- Compare and contrast the clinical presentation and diagnosis of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis;
- Recognize current treatment options for osteoarthritis management; and
- Recognize current treatment options for rheumatoid arthritis management.
To obtain credit:
To complete the program and receive CPE credit, view all lesson content and complete the learning assessment by submitting answers online. A minimum test score of 70% is needed to obtain credit. After successfully completing the learning assessment, participants must complete a program evaluation and claim the available CPE credit. Participants must also verify personal information required by CPE monitor and/or CE Broker (for Florida license holders) prior to submitting CPE credit claims.
